エリス島：アメリカ移民の歴史的拠点
エリス島（Ellis Island）は、アメリカ合衆国のアッパー・ニューヨーク湾に位置する島です。19世紀後半から20世紀半ばにかけて、アメリカ合衆国への主要な移民受け入れ拠点として機能し、その歴史的意義から「希望の島」や「嘆きの島」とも称されてきました。
